Data Warehouse Export Changes

Short Description Your Hive9 instance can deliver a scheduled data export (typically a nightly file set placed on an SFTP server or cloud bucket) to your data warehouse or BI team. New custom attributes and fields do not flow into that export automatically — the feed delivers a defined, mapped set of columns. This article explains how the export works and how to request changes.

What this article answers

  • Whether new custom attributes appear in the export automatically. (No.)
  • How to request that fields be added to the export.
  • What information to include so the change can be scoped quickly.
  • How to request a one-time / off-cycle export when you have a deadline.

How the export works

The scheduled export is a managed data feed, configured per instance by the Uptempo delivery team. It delivers an explicitly mapped set of columns — not every field in your instance. This is by design: a stable, predictable schema is what your downstream warehouse jobs depend on.

Key consequence: when you add a new custom attribute (for example a new tactic field) or want an existing field included, it must be added to the export configuration by Uptempo. A customer admin cannot modify the export schema themselves, and new attributes will not appear in the file until the mapping is updated and redeployed.

How to request an export change

Open a support ticket as a change request and include:

  1. The exact field(s)/attribute(s) to add — use the names as they appear in Settings → Custom Attributes.
  2. Where they live — Tactic, Line Item, Plan, etc.
  3. The target file — which export file should carry them (for example the tactic file vs. a separate file), and whether you want a new column or a new file.
  4. Any deadline — see off-cycle exports below.

The delivery team will scope the schema change, build it, and typically share sample output (for example a Tactic.json sample) for your sign-off before deploying to production. Once deployed, the updated files appear on the SFTP server on the next scheduled run.

I need the data before the next scheduled run

If you have an urgent need (for example a leadership meeting), say so in the ticket and ask for a one-time off-cycle export. The team can often push a manual file to unblock you while the permanent feed change is built and deployed.

Common questions

Do new custom attributes flow to the warehouse automatically? No. The export is a mapped feed; new fields must be added to the configuration by Uptempo.

Can I add a column myself? No — export schema changes are vendor-executed to protect the stability of your downstream jobs.

How do I verify a value is actually in the delivered file? Ask Support to confirm a specific record (for example a line-item ID and date) in the latest delivered file — they can query it directly.
