Can I bulk-import line items in Allocadia?

Yes — via scheduled import (SFTP / file-based), the REST API, or an integration platform like Workato. Pick the right pattern for your data source.

Yes. Allocadia supports several patterns for bringing line items in at scale:

  • Scheduled import via SFTP / CSV. The most common pattern. Your team drops a CSV at a known SFTP location on a schedule, and Allocadia imports the rows into the configured budget. Requires an import template to be set up — Professional Services typically configures this on first setup. Best for recurring imports from a stable source.
  • REST API. For programmatic creation, use POST /budgets/{budgetId}/lineitems. Subject to the 100-call-per-minute rate limit, so for large batches add deliberate spacing or use bulk patterns. Best for integrations with internal systems you control.
  • Workato or other integration platforms. If your team uses Workato, recipes can push line items into Allocadia via the REST API. Allocadia provides connector support; your team configures and operates the recipe.

For the initial setup of any of these patterns, talk to your CSM and Support — Professional Services typically handles import template or integration configuration on the first round.
