Plan-side budgets live in Uptempo Plan (campaign-level allocation). Finance-side budgets live in Allocadia/Spend (financial tracking). Different products, different purposes.
Uptempo has two products that both work with "budgets," but in different ways:
- Plan-side budget (Uptempo Plan). Lives in the campaign management module. Used to allocate spend at the campaign, program, or tactic level for planning purposes. The terminology customers see here includes "Plan Budget" — a live-calculated allocation as activities are planned.
- Finance-side budget (Allocadia / Uptempo Spend). Lives in the financial management module. Used to track and govern actual marketing spend through the fiscal year. The terminology here includes "Folder," "Budget," "Target," "Line Item," "PO," and "Actual."
Which one am I in?
If you're working in Allocadia / Uptempo Spend, every "budget" you see is a Finance-side budget. You'll work with Folders, Budgets, Targets, Line Items, POs, and Actuals — all part of the Spend product.
If your organization also uses Uptempo Plan, the Plan side and the Spend side are typically connected through integration: campaign-level allocations from Plan flow into Spend as targets or line items, and Spend tracks the actual realization of those amounts.
