Short Description Yes — Hive9 supports bulk edits via Honeycomb Bulk Actions. This article explains what you can change in bulk, the workflow, and the safety nets.
What this article answers
- What bulk actions you can perform on tactics.
- The basic workflow.
- What to watch out for.
The short answer
Yes. Hive9's Honeycomb Bulk Actions let you apply the same change to many tactics at once — attribute updates, date shifts, status changes, owner reassignment, and more.
What you can do in bulk
Common bulk operations include:
- Update a custom attribute value across multiple tactics.
- Change ownership.
- Shift start and end dates by a uniform offset.
- Submit multiple tactics for approval at once.
- Apply a template to multiple tactics.
The exact set of available bulk actions depends on your role's permissions and your instance's configuration.
The workflow
Step 1 — Filter your selection
- Open the Plan Grid.
- Use the Filter Panel to narrow to the tactics you want to bulk-edit.
- Confirm the row count and contents — bulk actions apply to every visible row, so an over-broad filter can affect more tactics than you intended.

Step 2 — Open Honeycomb
- Click the Honeycomb icon (Workspace Control Panel) on the Plan Grid.
- Select the bulk action you want to perform.
- Configure the change in the action's dialog (new value, date shift amount, new owner, etc.).
- Review the affected row count one more time.
Step 3 — Apply and verify
- Apply the action.
- Wait for Hive9 to confirm completion. Bulk actions on large selections can take a minute or more.
- Spot-check several tactics to confirm the change applied as expected.
- Review the Audit Log to see the per-record change history.
Safety practices
- Snapshot first if the change is significant. Snapshots capture the current state of the plan so you can compare before/after — and reference the prior values if needed.
- Start small. When trying a new bulk action, apply it to a small filter (5–10 tactics) first to confirm the behavior. Then scale up.
- Watch for approval triggers. Bulk changes to workflow-driving attributes can put many tactics into re-approval at once. Coordinate with your approvers if this is likely.
- Bulk changes can't be undone in one click. You can reverse via another bulk action — but you need to know the prior values.
Common questions
How many tactics can I bulk-edit at once? There's no hard limit, but very large selections (thousands of tactics) can take significant time and may hit performance thresholds. For very large changes, consider doing them in waves.
Can I bulk-edit Line Items? Line Items can be edited in bulk in some configurations. Check the available actions in Honeycomb for your role.
Are bulk changes recorded in the Audit Log? Yes — each affected tactic gets a Plan Log entry with the user, timestamp, attribute, prior value, and new value.
