How long are deleted items kept in the Recycle Bin?

Items stay in the Recycle Bin until a user permanently deletes them. There's no automatic auto-purge for routine items.

Deleted items remain in the Recycle Bin until they are either:

• Permanently deleted from the Recycle Bin by a user with the appropriate permissions, or
• Removed during account cleanup performed by Support at your request.

There is no scheduled auto-purge that removes items from the Recycle Bin after a set number of days under normal circumstances. That means an item deleted today, if not permanently removed, will still be in the Recycle Bin a week, a month, or a year later — and you can restore it.

What about permanently deleted items?

If an item has been permanently deleted from inside the Recycle Bin, it generally cannot be restored from the UI. If you need to recover something that was permanently deleted, contact Support — recovery from that state isn't guaranteed but may be possible depending on timing.

What if our organization has a retention policy requirement?

If your team needs deleted items purged automatically after a certain period (for compliance or data-minimization reasons), reach out to your CSM or Support. We can discuss what's possible for your account.
