Insights is Allocadia's reporting workspace, powered by GoodData. Here's what you can do from it and how to find your way around.
What Insights is
Insights is the reporting and dashboards area of Allocadia, powered by GoodData. It gives you dashboards, standard reports, custom reports, and ad-hoc exploration over your plan, PO, Actual, and transfer data.
Open Insights from the top navigation of Allocadia.
What's inside
- Dashboards — pre-built or custom collections of reports. The Health Check dashboard is one you'll likely see on day one.
- Standard reports — ships with Allocadia, cover plan vs actual, variance, spend-over-time, PO pipeline, and approval status.
- Custom reports — reports your team or ours builds against the GoodData data table.
- Ad-hoc exploration — drag-and-drop interface for building a view from attributes and metrics.
Finding a report
- Browse the dashboards and report categories in the Insights sidebar.
- Use the search bar at the top to search by report name.
- Report titles typically include the hierarchy or FY they're scoped to.
Permissions
What you see in Insights depends on your account role and the hierarchies you have access to. If you expect to see a report but don't, ask your admin whether you've been granted the relevant hierarchy access.
When to build a custom report
Standard reports cover the common patterns. Build a custom report when you need to slice by a custom attribute that's unique to your account, or combine data in a way the standard set doesn't. See Custom reports and MAQL basics in Allocadia.
