The Finance Budget screen is loading very slowly

What's happening

You open Finance Budget and the screen takes a long time to render — sometimes well over a minute. Other Hive9 screens load normally.

Why this happens

Finance Budget aggregates data across the entire Plan hierarchy in your instance:

All finance budgets and their lines
All Line Items linked to those budgets
All transactions and accruals tied to those lines
All snapshots and audit history

For large instances — many years of history, many budgets, many Line Items — this aggregation work is meaningful. The more data your instance accumulates, the longer the initial load can take.

How to keep load times reasonable

Step 1 — Filter before loading

If your instance allows pre-filtering the Finance Budget view:

Apply a Year filter so you're loading one fiscal year rather than all years.
Apply a Budget Name filter if you only need to see specific budgets.
Save the filtered view as a Saved View for one-click reuse.

Step 2 — Browser hygiene

Hive9 is a data-heavy application and benefits from a clean browser session.

Close other heavy tabs (Salesforce, BI tools, video streaming) before opening Finance Budget.
Clear browser cache occasionally — old cached assets can slow rendering.
Use a modern Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave) for best performance.

Step 3 — Avoid loading during system maintenance windows

Scheduled maintenance windows are posted on the System Maintenance page. Avoid heavy operations during maintenance windows — performance can be degraded.

Step 4 — Watch for instance-level issues

If load time suddenly worsens for everyone in your organization at the same time (not just one user), that often signals a broader issue:

Confirm other users are seeing the same slowness.
Note the time the slowness started and roughly how long it's been ongoing.
Contact Support with that information. Support can check whether re-indexing or database maintenance is needed on your instance.

Common questions

Why does Finance Budget take longer than the Plan Grid? Finance Budget aggregates transactional and accrual data on top of the Plan hierarchy, which adds work the Plan Grid doesn't need to do.

Does the number of years in my instance affect load time? Yes. Hive9 supports up to 10 years of plan data; instances near the upper bound carry more aggregation work.

Will refreshing the screen help? Refreshing forces a full reload, which is slower than navigating away and back. It's worth refreshing only if the screen appears stuck.
