Short Description A Saved View captures your filter selections, column layout, and (in Calendar view) zoom level so you can return to it with one click. This article covers creating, sharing, and managing Saved Views.
What this article answers
- How to save your current view.
- The difference between a personal Saved View and a Shared View.
- How to manage and delete views.
What a Saved View captures
When you save a view, Hive9 stores:
- Filter selections — every active filter in the Filter Panel.
- Column layout — which columns are visible and their order (Grid view).
- Sort order — the column you've sorted by.
- Zoom and timeline range — Calendar view's current zoom level and date window.
It does not capture the data itself — Saved Views are dynamic, so reopening one shows the current state of the matching objects.
Saving a view
- Configure your filters, columns, and sort on the Plan Grid.
- Click Save View (often in the view toolbar or above the Filter Panel).
- Enter a name. Make it descriptive — "FY26 Q3 Demand Gen Tactics" is more useful than "My View 1."
- Choose:
- Personal — only you see this view.
- Shared — visible to others in your team or org (depending on your role's permissions).
- Save.
Opening a Saved View
Saved Views appear in a dropdown or panel near the Plan Grid toolbar. Click the name to load.
The view loads with the saved filters applied — even though the data may have changed since you saved it. New tactics matching the filter appear; deleted ones drop out.
Sharing a view
If you have permission to create Shared Views:
- A Shared View appears in colleagues' Saved Views list.
- Edits to the Shared View propagate to everyone who uses it.
- Only the view definition is shared — each user still sees data they have permission to see.
Editing or deleting a view
To rename or edit a Saved View:
- Open the view.
- Adjust filters or columns.
- Click Save View again with the same name to overwrite, or save under a new name.
To delete a view, find it in the Saved Views list and use the Delete action. Shared Views may require admin permission to delete.
Personal vs Shared — which to choose
- Personal when the view is specific to how you work (your team, your year, your KPIs).
- Shared when others on your team or org need the same view (reporting standards, leadership reviews, regional rollups).
When in doubt, start Personal. Promote to Shared once the view is stable and others ask for it.
Common questions
Can I have a Saved View that includes things outside my permissions? Saved Views store the filter definition, not the data. When opened, each user sees only the data their role allows. A Shared View won't expose data the viewer doesn't have permission for.
My saved filters don't appear highlighted when I open the view. This is a display nuance, not a functional issue. The filters are applied — see My saved filter set doesn't visually highlight which filters are applied for more.
Can I export a Saved View? Some views support export to CSV or ICS (Calendar Export). The export options appear once you've loaded a Saved View.
