Managing your account, notifications, and alerts

Short Description Your My Account page is where you set personal preferences, notification choices, and admin impersonation permissions. This article walks through each.

What this article answers

  • Where to change your default currency, date format, and other preferences.
  • How notification settings work.
  • The admin impersonation permission and what it does.

Where to find My Account

Click your name (or avatar) in the header to open the user menu, then click My Account.

Personal preferences

The top of My Account shows your personal settings. The most common ones to set:

  • Default Currency — used for new tactics and budgets you create. You can still pick a different currency per-record.
  • Date Format — display preference (MM/DD/YYYY vs DD/MM/YYYY, etc.).
  • Language — UI language, if your instance supports multiple.
  • Phone Number — optional contact info.

Changes save when you click Save.

Notification preferences

Hive9 sends notifications for events you're involved in:

  • Approval requests when you're an eligible approver.
  • Tactic, budget, or line item changes when you're the owner.
  • Workflow status changes.
  • System alerts and maintenance notices.

You can toggle notification channels (email, in-app) on My Account. If you're receiving too many emails, dial them back here rather than filtering them in your inbox — the in-app feed is searchable and persists.

Alerts and the Alerts feed

The Alerts feed (icon in the header — often a bell) shows your recent in-app notifications. Click an alert to navigate to the relevant tactic, plan, or approval item.

Alerts you haven't read are highlighted. Clicking marks them as read.

Admin impersonation permission

Hive9 admins can sometimes log in as another user to troubleshoot issues — but only if that user has explicitly opted in.

The setting lives at the bottom of My Account:

  • Allow Admins to access my account — toggle ON or OFF.
  • Allow access for:
    • 24 hours — temporary opt-in (default once you turn it on).
    • Always — continuous until you switch it off.

When admin impersonation is active, the admin sees Hive9 as you do, with a banner indicating impersonation mode. They cannot:

  • Access your My Account settings (this screen).
  • Sign you out.
  • Change your password.

All of their actions while impersonating you are logged with their identity.

Turn impersonation OFF when you no longer need troubleshooting help.

Common questions

Can I see who has impersonated me? Audit Logs capture impersonation events with the admin's identity, timestamp, and any actions taken. Ask your admin or Support if you want to see your impersonation history.

Why isn't my preferred currency available? Currencies must be enabled at the instance level (in Settings → Currency). If your preferred currency isn't in the dropdown, ask your admin to add it.

Can I export my notifications? The in-app feed isn't directly exportable, but you can scroll through your history. For specific change records, Audit Logs are the better source.
