Submitted PRs enter an approval workflow configured for your account. Here's what approvers do and where to see pending items.
What happens when you submit
Clicking Submit on a PR triggers the approval workflow configured on your account. The workflow typically includes one or more approver steps — a manager, a finance partner, a procurement team — depending on the PR's amount, category, or custom attributes.
While the PR is in approval, it's locked for editing. Approvers see it in their Approvals queue.
Where approvers see pending PRs
- Home page. The Approvals column shows a count of pending approvals per hierarchy.
- Approvals view inside a budget. Opens an item-level list of what's waiting on you.
- Email notifications. If you have notifications enabled, you'll get an email when a PR is routed to you. See Managing your Allocadia account, notifications, and email preferences.
Approving or rejecting
- Open the PR from your Approvals queue.
- Review the PR details.
- Click Approve or Reject.
- For rejections, add a comment explaining why. The requestor is notified and can edit the PR or submit a new one.
If the PR requires more than one approval step, approving moves it to the next approver. The PR isn't fully approved until the last step is completed.
Delegating or re-assigning
Delegation (temporarily assigning your approvals to another user, e.g. while on vacation) is typically configured in your account settings. Not all accounts have this enabled — ask your admin.
If the approval workflow isn't working as expected
If a PR is stuck without a visible approver, or you believe you should be seeing a PR in your queue but aren't, contact Support with the PR number and the hierarchy it belongs to.
